Methodology

ousd.watch reads Open USD (OUSD) directly from the four blockchains it lives on. Nothing here comes from the issuer or from a third-party data vendor.

What is counted

  • Supply and balances. On Ethereum, Base and Tempo they come from token transfers only: a transfer from the zero address is a mint, a transfer to it is a burn. On Solana supply comes from mint and burn instructions and balances from each transaction's token balance changes, summed per wallet. Supply is mints minus burns; a holder is an address with a balance above zero.
  • Freezes. On Ethereum, Base and Tempo the token asks a policy registry whether an address may send it. An address counts as frozen when the registry answers no. On Solana the freeze authority freezes token accounts. Addresses that were already on a block list when the token adopted it are listed as frozen from that moment.
  • Amounts are whole OUSD. One OUSD is treated as one US dollar for thresholds such as “whale transfers from $100,000”.

How it is checked

Indexed numbers are reconciled against the contracts themselves: total supply against totalSupply(), the largest balances against balanceOf(), and every frozen address against the registry's own answer. A mismatch is treated as a bug in the indexer, not as a rounding difference.

News

Stories on the news page are generated from on-chain events: large mints and burns, supply milestones, freezes, seizures and changes to the contracts. Each story lists the transactions it rests on and keeps its address forever. The “In the media” column links to other publishers; only their headlines are shown.

Citing ousd.watch

Numbers, charts and stories may be quoted freely with a link to the page they came from, for example: “according to ousd.watch”. Every news story has a ready citation at the bottom.

Independence and limits
